The Writing Process

Your text suggests six stages of "the writing process." What are the six stages Behrens discusses and characteristics of each? What is your own writing process and in what ways is your personal writing process similar and different from the six stages discussed by Behrens? What parts do you consider the most and least important? What parts of the process do you find easiest and most difficult? What parts of the process do you spend the most and least time doing?

"Open a Vein"

As a first post on your blog, I'm asking that you respond to Buechner's message to"open a vein." What I mean by this is I'm wondering what you're passionate about, what you enjoy writing about, what types of writing you do on a daily basis? What role does writing play in your life? Do you primarily write to communicate? to express yourself? as assignments? Who do you write to and with and why? What kinds of writing are challenging for you and why? What types of topics might you be interested in writing about throughout this class? Please feel free to add additional thoughts you have about yourself as a writer!
